The best time is during the dry season from October to March when temperatures are pleasant and rainfall is minimal. This period is ideal for trekking in the Simien Mountains and visiting historical sites.
Most visitors require a visa, which can often be obtained on arrival at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa or through the e-visa system. Check with your local Ethiopian embassy for specific requirements.
Ethiopia is generally safe for tourists, especially in major tourist areas. However, it's recommended to check current travel advisories, avoid border regions, and take normal precautions as you would in any foreign country.
